Bruce Rimell

Bruce Rimell is an internationally exhibited, gay/Queer and hyperactive/ADHD artist and poet based in Leeds-Bradford in the UK. His work explores visionary, ethnographic, archaeological and Queer themes, having developed a unique visual style over many years which sits between painting and illustration.

Fusing the flowing lines of Keith Haring with vivid stylisations from Mesoamerican codices alongside the eyepopping visionary intensity of Yayoi Kusama, his subjects dance between fragmented anatomies and smooth seamlessness. The current trajectory of his art is to explore inner self-portraits and Queer sexual intimacies towards an ecstatic holism, as opposed to the broken and/or transgressive roles we often take on as Queer people.
